To Whom It May Concern:

It is with great pleasure to write this letter of recommendation for Mary Grace Reyes who plans to pursue her Master’s Degree in Nursing Informatics. I am Grace Reyes’ Nurse Manager at AXXXX, Neonatal Intensive Care Unit.

NICU Nurse

Grace is an excellent NICU nurse. In her clinical practice, Grace takes a leadership role. As a result, she is able to foster open communication and collegial relationships. She demonstrates respect and understanding for peers, physicians, and other clinical disciplines. For instance, she formulated an integrated approach to patient care.

She has a deep devotion to patient care. In addition to that, she is dedicated to improving the healthcare experience for NICU patients and families.

Clinical Informatics

In regards to clinical informatics, Grace has been an active member of AXXXX’s Clinical Informatics and Optimization Council. Firstly, they work on improving our electronic health record system (EHR). Moreover, they aim to make it better for all clinicians. Finally, they wanted to empower clinicians in using health information technology applications and devices.

In her pursuit of a Master’s degree in Informatics, Grace has applied what she is learning in school to her clinical practice. She also willingly shares new knowledge with her nursing colleagues.

Lifelong Learner

Grace has been a superuser for our unit and the whole hospital. With the hospital announcement, that we will be converting to a new EHR: EPIC, Grace is the first one to volunteer. She taught more than 300 classes for inpatient nurses in six out of 11 hospitals.

Grace is caring, compassionate, and committed to lifelong learning. She uses her earned skills and knowledge in improving clinical practice, research, and scholarship. For example, she has presented many unit-specific evidence-based practice initiatives for the benefit of the patients and her colleagues.

I support Grace in pursuing her Master’s degree in Clinical Informatics. I am confident that Grace will excel in school and will promote the advancement of the nursing profession.

Sincerely,

Manager of Clinical Operations- NICU/Pediatrics, Women and Children Services
